José Domingos de Morais, known professionally as Dominguinhos (12 February 1941 – 23 July 2013), was a revered Brazilian composer, accordionist, and singer. Born in Garanhuns, Pernambuco, Brazil, he was a legend in the genre of Brazilian music, particularly noted for his work in the styles of forró, a genre of music that originated in Brazil's northeastern region. Apprenticed by the king of baião, Luiz Gonzaga, Dominguinhos inherited his mentor’s throne to become one of the most respected and innovative forró musicians in Brazil.
Despite his passing in 2013, his music continues to be celebrated and listened to widely. Over his lengthy career, Dominguinhos crafted a rich tapestry of albums and his works, such as "Sanfona Dourada" and "Gostoso Demais," highlight his mastery of the accordion and his skill for blending traditional Brazilian rhythms with other genres, creating a fresh and distinctive sound.
