The Wretched End

The Wretched End is a Norwegian extreme metal band that was formed in 2008 as a collaboration between former Emperor guitarist Samoth (Tomas Haugen) and Mindgrinder/Windir drummer Cosmo (Nils Fjellström). The band's sound is characterized by a blend of death metal, black metal, and thrash, possessing a dark and intricate atmosphere that also touches on progressive elements. Their lyrical themes typically explore existential dread, nature, and the human condition, often delivered with a level of sophistication and depth.

With three significant releases under their belt, The Wretched End has established a reputation for producing dense and heavy music with a meticulous attention to detail. Debuting with 'Ominous' in 2010, they set a powerful tone for the band's identity, followed by 'Inroads' in 2012, which continued to push their sonic boundaries. The most recent album, 'In These Woods, From These Mountains', was released in 2016 and demonstrated the band's continued evolution with an expansive sound that incorporates ambient textures and a brooding atmosphere. With these releases, The Wretched End has carved out a niche for themselves within the extreme metal community, garnering respect and recognition for their relentless pursuit of artistic expression within a genre that demands innovation and authenticity.
