Clifford Leaman is a renowned American classical saxophonist and educator. He serves as an associate dean and professor of saxophone at the University of South Carolina's School of Music. Leaman has had a distinguished career as a soloist and clinician, performing and teaching across the globe, including in the United States, Canada, Italy, Spain, France, and China. He has been involved in various musical projects, including the Ambassador Duo, which he formed with pianist Derek Parsons, and the RoseWind Duo, alongside percussionist Scott Herring. The RoseWind Duo has released a CD titled "Release," which features new music for saxophone and marimba.
Leaman's educational background includes a B.S. in music education from Lebanon Valley College and both an M.M. and a DMA in saxophone performance from the University of Michigan. He has been recognized for his contributions to music education and performance, including awards such as the Michael J. Mungo Distinguished Professor of the Year Award and the Carolina Distinguished Professorship. Leaman is also an artist-clinician for Conn-Selmer, Inc., and has been involved in commissioning and premiering numerous contemporary works for saxophone.
