Bacilos

Bacilos is a Latin pop band originally formed in the late 1990s in Miami, Florida, by three friends: Colombian singer and guitarist Jorge Villamizar, Brazilian bassist André Lopes, and Puerto Rican percussionist José Javier Freire. The band's music is recognized for its blending of Latin pop with folk and tropical music, and it quickly found an audience for its catchy melodies, humorous and insightful lyrics, and vibrant rhythms.

Their career experienced a significant upswing with the release of their album "Caraluna," which won a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album, and included hits like "Mi Primer Millón," "Caraluna," and "Tabaco y Chanel." One of their most renowned songs, "Mi Primer Millón," is an autobiographical tale that humorously narrates the band's striving for success. After disbanding in 2007 following a successful run and numerous accolades, Bacilos reunited in 2017 to the delight of fans, and they've continued to release new music and perform live, adding to their catalog with songs like "Anoche" and "No Quiero Bailar Solito," proving their timeless appeal within the Latin music scene.
