Michael McHale is a renowned Belfast-born pianist who has established himself as one of Ireland's leading musicians. He has built a busy international career as a solo recitalist, concerto soloist, and chamber musician. McHale has performed with numerous prestigious orchestras, including the Minnesota, Hallé, Moscow Symphony, and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestras, as well as all five major Irish orchestras. His performances have taken him to iconic venues like Wigmore Hall in London, Lincoln Center in New York, and Symphony Hall in Boston. He has released over thirty albums, featuring works by various composers, including recent collaborations with clarinetist Michael Collins on albums like "The Lyrical Clarinet" series.
McHale's educational background includes studies at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Cambridge University, and the Royal Academy of Music. He has been recognized with several awards, including the Terence Judd/Hallé Award and a Major Individual Award from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. In addition to his performing career, McHale is a lecturer in piano at the MTU Cork School of Music and regularly gives masterclasses.
