Molchat Doma

Molchat Doma, which translates to "Houses Are Silent," is a Belarusian post-punk band formed in Minsk in 2017. The trio, consisting of Egor Shkutko (vocals), Roman Komogortsev (guitar, synths, drum machine), and Pavel Kozlov (bass, synths), has carved out a distinctive niche within the post-punk and new wave music scenes. Their sound is characterized by its brooding, synth-heavy aesthetic, reminiscent of the dark dancefloors of the 80s, yet infused with a modern melancholic sensibility.

The band gained significant attention with their second album, "Этажи" (which translates to "Floors" in English), released in 2018. The album's success on streaming services and within underground music circles propelled Molchat Doma to international recognition. Their most recent releases, including their 2020 album "Monument," showcase their continued evolution in sound and thematic storytelling. The tracks intertwine introspective lyrics with pulsating beats, echoing the existential angst and the introspective nature of modern life. Molchat Doma's music offers a resonant voice for the disaffected youth, laced with nostalgic threads that hark back to the early days of electronic and post-punk music.
