Human Mastication

Human Mastication is a brutal death metal band from Davao City, Philippines, formed in 2002. Known for their intense slamming style and graphic themes centered around gore and perversion, the band has carved out a niche in the extreme metal scene. Over the years, they have released several demos, splits, and full-length albums, including notable works like *Grotesque Mastication of Putrid Innards* (2008), *Driven to Kill* (2013), and the recent single *Assaulted and Left for Dead* (2025).

The band’s lineup has seen changes, but core members have consistently delivered aggressively brutal music with a mix of slam-heavy riffs and faster sections. They built a reputation for pushing the boundaries of slam death metal with their visceral sound and disturbing lyrical content. Their partnership with U.S. label Sevared Records helped them reach a wider international audience, solidifying Human Mastication as a significant act in the global slam/death metal underground.
