Desperation Band

Desperation Band is a worship band that emerged from the Desperation Movement, a youth movement focused on inspiring a sense of desperate longing for God among Christian teenagers. The band came to life at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado, under the leadership of Pastor David Perkins. It began as part of a youth conference in 2001 and quickly grew into a musical group known for stirring live events and passionate worship sessions.

Composed of several key members including Jon Egan, Jared Anderson, and Glenn Packiam, Desperation Band has contributed extensively to the genre of contemporary Christian music, with their songs often derived from their experiences in ministry and marked by a deep desire for a genuine encounter with the divine. With albums like "Desperation: Live Worship for a Desperate Generation" and "Light Up the World," the band encapsulates a generation's cry for God's presence. Their release, "Banner (Live)," along with other performance tracks, showcases their ability to capture the live worship atmosphere on recordings, while the tracks themselves have been used widely in church worship and personal times of devotion, reflecting the band's impact beyond their live events.
