El Guincho

Pablo Díaz-Reixa, known by his stage name El Guincho, is a Spanish musician and producer who has carved a substantial niche for himself in the realm of experimental pop and electronic music. Born on November 17, 1983, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, he later moved to Barcelona, where his music career took off. With his early work drawing from tropicalia influences and looping techniques, El Guincho broke into the international music scene with his infectious rhythms and a collage-like approach to music production.

El Guincho gained critical acclaim with the release of his album "Alegranza" in 2007, which was quickly followed by "Pop Negro" in 2010, debuting his skill at blending traditional Spanish music with contemporary electronic sounds. With a flair for vibrant and catchy melodies, his track "Bombay" from "Pop Negro" was accompanied by a striking music video that garnered significant attention. His exploration of musical boundaries continued with the ambitious project "Hiperasia" in 2016, an album inspired by the sensory overload of Asian bazaars in Madrid and bearing the same name as his eclectic concept store. The work fused futuristic sounds with urban beats and pop culture references, showcasing El Guincho's innovative spirit. Not merely sticking to studio releases, he has also contributed to the world of film soundtracks, as evidenced by "Hiperasia by Wellness Pirate", which broadens his canvas with cinematic soundscapes. El Guincho continues to evolve, releasing compelling singles like "Samurai" and collaborating with other artists, such as Mala Rodriguez on the track "Comix", always ensuring his music resonates with a sense of discovery and joy.
