Jitka Vlašánková

Jitka Vlašánková is a renowned cellist known for her extensive contributions to chamber music. She completed her cello studies at the Prague Conservatory and the Academy of Performing Arts, culminating in performances of Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations and Haydn's Concerto in D major at the Rudolfinum in Prague. Jitka has been a member of the Martinů Quartet since 1987 and is also part of the Pro Arte Trio. Her recording of J.S. Bach's Suites 1-3 received recognition from the music magazine HARMONIE. She has shared stages with notable musicians such as Josef Suk and Arto Noras, and has served as a jury member in international competitions. Jitka plays a French cello by François Gand from 1830 and has been teaching cello and chamber music since 2000.

In addition to her work with the Martinů Quartet, Jitka Vlašánková has given recitals both domestically and internationally, and has recorded numerous cello sonatas for Czech Radio, including works by Rachmaninov, Chopin, Franck, Shostakovich, and Schubert. Her diverse musical engagements reflect her dedication to both classical and chamber music performances.
