Chelsea Wang is a talented young pianist known for her impressive performances as a soloist and chamber musician. Born in Ames, Iowa, but a native of West Des Moines, Iowa, Chelsea has studied at prestigious institutions like the Curtis Institute of Music with Meng-Chieh Liu and Ignat Solzhenitsyn. She is currently pursuing her master's degree at Peabody Conservatory under the guidance of Leon Fleisher. Chelsea has performed in numerous iconic venues such as Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, and the Konzerthaus Berlin, showcasing her versatility and skill. Her repertoire includes both classical and contemporary pieces, reflecting her diverse musical interests.
Chelsea Wang has been recognized for her talent through various competitions and performances. She has been a prizewinner and finalist in several national and international piano competitions, including the Seoul International Piano Competition and the Washington International Piano Competition. Her orchestral debut at the age of six marked the beginning of a prolific career, with performances alongside numerous orchestras and participation in festivals like Music@Menlo and the Ravinia Steans Institute. Wang is also a fellow of Ensemble Connect at Carnegie Hall for the 2023–2025 term.
