NCY Milky Band
NCY Milky Band is a French quartet that emerged from the core of BMM Records. The band consists of Louis Treffel on keyboards, Quentin Thomas on saxophone and flute, Antoine Léonardon on bass, and Paul Lefevre on drums. They started gaining recognition in 2019 with their video series "Our Gurus," where they reinterpreted influences such as Boards of Canada, Jean-Claude Vannier, and Aphex Twin. Gradually, they evolved into an independent act, blending genres like French groove, soundtrack, library, jazz, funk, hip-hop, progressive rock, and electronica with a psychedelic touch. Their recent works include a diverse range of releases, showcasing their unique sound.
Their music often balances between production and live sessions, with a blend of improvisation and structured composition. Tracks like "Magic Polo" and "Young Fiasco" demonstrate their ability to interweave different styles, creating an engaging and dynamic sound. NCY Milky Band's creative process involves both studio experiments and jamming, reflecting their passion for translating life's energy into music.
