Namlı is particularly noted for his contributions to the advancement of the bağlama, introducing new techniques and styles that have influenced a broad range of genres, from traditional folk to contemporary jazz and world music.

As a composer and instrumentalist, Zeki Çağlar Namlı has also been recognized for his inventive spirit. He developed the "natural stereo" system for string instruments, allowing them to produce a unique stereo sound.
