Qvinta Essençia

Qvinta Essençia is a vocal quartet known for their unique approach to Renaissance polyphony, deviating from traditional interpretations by infusing their performances with rich details and colors. The group consists of Èlia Casanova (soprano), Leandro Marziotte (alto), Albert Riera (tenor), and Pablo Acosta (bass). They have participated in several prominent festivals across Spain and Europe, including Oude Muziek, Festival de Montfaucon, and the Palau de la Música Catalana. Their repertoire spans the 16th to 18th centuries, covering Spanish Renaissance music, Italian madrigals, and works by composers like Johann Sebastian Bach.

Qvinta Essençia has released notable projects, such as their first discographic work dedicated to Luca Marenzio's madrigals in 2019. More recently, they have released "El Sentir de Mi Sentido," focusing on the musical and poetic heritage of Spain's Golden Age, and are working on a new album centered on Spanish Renaissance sacred music and the figure of Mary Magdalene. Their performances are characterized by a deep exploration of the interplay between poetry and music from this era, showcasing the vibrant cultural landscape of the time.
