Pt.D.V.Paluskar

Pt. D.V. Paluskar was a renowned Indian classical vocalist and one of the most celebrated exponents of Hindustani classical music in the early 20th century. Born in 1921, he was the son of the legendary musicologist Pandit Vishnu Digambar Paluskar, who played a crucial role in making classical music accessible to the general public in India. D.V. Paluskar showed prodigious talent from a young age and went on to become a prominent figure in the Hindustani music world with his soulful, devotional renditions and mastery of ragas.

He was known for his smooth, melodious voice and his ability to infuse emotion into traditional compositions, often bringing a spiritual depth to his performances. One of his most iconic contributions is his rendition of "Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram" alongside Ustad Amir Khan for the 1952 film Baiju Bawra — a duet that remains legendary. Although his life was tragically cut short when he passed away in 1955 at the young age of 34, Pt. D.V. Paluskar's legacy continues to inspire generations of classical musicians and music lovers alike.
