Hearse

**Hearse** is a Swedish death metal band that roared to life in 2001, founded by vocalist/bassist Johan Liiva (ex-Arch Enemy) alongside guitarist Max Thornell and drummer Mattias "Tyrant" Norrman. Known for blending old-school death metal grit with melodic hooks and a touch of rock ‘n’ roll swagger, they carved a niche with albums like *Dominion Reptilian* (2003) and *Armageddon Mon Amour* (2004), which showcased their knack for catchy riffs and Liiva’s distinctive growls. Their later releases, including *The Last Ordeal* (2005) and *Single Ticket to Paradise* (2007), leaned into a more groove-driven, experimental sound while keeping their roots in tact. Though not as prolific in recent years, Hearse remains a cult favorite for fans of raw, riff-heavy metal with a rebellious spirit.
