Hekátē

Hekátē is a synth-punk band from Athens, Greece, formed in the spring of 2018 as a raw outlet to express the bleak and stressful realities of life in their city. The band combines dark synthwave and punk elements, crafting music that’s both danceable and charged with political urgency. Their lineup features Iris on synths, Chara on bass, Vicky on drums, and Lydia delivering vocals in both Greek and English, grounding the sound in a tight, DIY punk ethos.

After debuting with the album *Μέρες Οργής (Days of Wrath)* in 2020, which captured themes of identity, psychological struggle, and systemic oppression, Hekátē returned in 2025 with their powerful sophomore release *Μαύρη Τρύπα (Black Hole)*. Released on the French feminist label Mascara Rocks Records, this album deepens their exploration of dysthymic rage amid societal turmoil, featuring more adventurous synth work and sharper, more confrontational lyrics. Known for their energetic live shows in self-organized spaces, Hekátē continues to be a vital voice in the Greek DIY post-punk scene, channeling the pulse and darkness of urban life with boldness and vulnerability.
