Vox Dei

Vox Dei is a seminal Argentine rock band that played a significant role in the development of Latin American rock music. Formed in 1967 in Quilmes, Buenos Aires, by Rubén Basoalto, Willy Quiroga, and Ricardo Soulé, the band went through various line-up changes but maintained a core presence in the Argentine rock scene. Vox Dei achieved fame with their ambitious project "La Biblia," released in 1971, which is widely regarded as one of the first Spanish-language rock operas and a high point of Argentine rock history. The album sets passages from the Bible to music and remains one of the group's most enduring works.

Throughout their career, Vox Dei has demonstrated a remarkable ability to blend hard rock, blues, and progressive elements with thoughtful, poetic lyrics. Their live performances are known for their intensity and musicianship, capturing audiences for more than five decades. Albums like "Jeremias, Pies de Plomo" and "Es una nube, no hay duda" solidified their status in the rock pantheon. The band continued to perform and release new material, including live recordings such as "Gran Rex 02.12.16 - 50 Años de Rock Nacional (En Vivo)" which celebrates their influential legacy in the Latin American rock scene. Even beyond their golden years, Vox Dei's contributions to the genre resonate, making them a pivotal reference point for rock enthusiasts and musicians alike.
