Lone Deer Laredo

Lone Deer Laredo is a Finnish folk rock duo known for their evocative blend of folk, Americana, and Slavic influences. The band consists of Paola Suhonen, a fashion designer and filmmaker, and Olli Happonen, a musician with rock roots. They met in Helsinki’s bohemian scene in 2016, and from that instant connection, Lone Deer Laredo was born. Their music tells stories of longing, solitude, and the open road, wrapped in a sonic world that conjures images of dark forests, cotton fields, and endless highways.

Their debut album, *Lone Deer Laredo, Vol. 1*, was recorded in Nashville with legendary producer Brad Jones and released in 2019 by Ivana Helsinki Records, the label connected to Paola’s fashion brand. The duo has since released a series of albums, including *Vol. 2* in 2022, continuing their ambitious project of seven albums. They have gained international attention for their intimate performances across Finland, Europe, Japan, and the US, with their sound described as a meeting point between David Lynch, Aki Kaurismäki, and Björk, or a “summer night union of Nancy Sinatra and Gram Parsons”.
