Gerhard Markson

Gerhard Markson is a German conductor with a rich background in classical music. He studied at the Frankfurt Academy of Music and further honed his skills under notable mentors like Igor Markevitch and Franco Ferrara. Markson has held significant positions, including being the Principal Conductor of the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra from 2001 to 2009. During his tenure, he conducted a wide range of works, including those by Mahler, Orff, Mozart, Beethoven, and Strauss. He has also worked with numerous orchestras worldwide, such as the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra. Markson has been involved in several recordings for Naxos Records.
