Dick van Gasteren is a Dutch conductor who's been the founder, conductor, and artistic director of the Ciconia Consort—a cool chamber orchestra based in The Hague—since kicking it off back in 2012. He's led them through awesome projects like *Rheingold*, *American Pioneers*, and French string orchestra gems, plus performances at spots like Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, blending rare masterpieces with fun stories from conducting history.
Beyond that, Dick's been a regular guest conductor with the Orquesta Simón Bolívar in Venezuela from 2014 to 2021, and he's mentored young talents through masterclasses while diving into Dutch music history with his biography on 19th-century composer Johannes Josephus Viotta.
