Blitzkid

Blitzkid, originating from Bluefield, West Virginia, is a horror punk band known for their dark, thematic melodies and gothic lyrical content. Formed in 1997 by lead vocalist and bassist Argyle Goolsby and guitarist and vocalist TB Monstrosity, the band quickly became a staple in the horror punk genre, crafting a sound that was both homage to the classic punk rock of the '70s and '80s and an innovative twist on the macabre aesthetics of horror films and literature. They are often credited alongside bands like The Misfits for popularizing and defining the horror punk genre.

Throughout their career, Blitzkid released a series of albums that caught the attention of both punk enthusiasts and horror fans. "Let Flowers Die" (2001) and "Trace of a Stranger" (2003) solidified their sound and fanbase, while later albums such as "Five Cellars Below" (2006) and "Apparitional" (2011) showcased the band's ability to evolve and maintain fresh elements in their work. Their music often features narratives drawn from horror fiction and film, coupled with energetic and catchy punk riffs. Despite announcing a hiatus in 2012, the band's influence endures, and their 2020 release "Trace of a Stranger (Revamped)" revisited one of their classic albums with a new energy, ensuring that their legacy within the horror punk realm continues to resonate with a growing audience. Blitzkid has left an indelible mark in the music world, bringing fans together for a darkly entertaining experience that transcends conventional punk rock norms.
