Transit was an American emo band hailing from Stoneham, Massachusetts, which emerged on the indie music scene with earnest and evocative soundscapes, blended with pop-punk and alternative rock influences. The band formed in 2006, and its lineup notably included Joe Boynton (vocals), Torre Cioffi (lead guitar, vocals), PJ Jefferson (bass), and Daniel Frazier (drums). They created a name for themselves in the underground punk community with their heartfelt lyrics and dynamic compositions, cultivating a devoted fanbase through tireless touring and an organic, grass-roots aesthetic.
Throughout their career, Transit released several well-received albums and extended plays that showcased their evolution as a band. "Listen & Forgive" (2011) was arguably the group's breakthrough, displaying a more mature sonic palette that resonated well with critics and fans alike. The reissue of this album underlined its significance in the band's discography. Albums such as "Young New England" (2013) and "Joyride" (2014), their last release, continued to build upon the earnest foundations laid by prior records like "Keep This To Yourself" (2010). Despite fluctuating popularity and the often uncertain landscape of the music industry, Transit made a lasting impression on the emo and pop-punk scenes with their relatable anthems and the undeniable energy they brought to each project. Sadly, the band announced their breakup in 2016, leaving behind a legacy that would influence future generations of emo and indie bands.
