Mic Christopher

Mic Christopher was an Irish singer-songwriter whose musical journey began in the bustling streets of Dublin as a busker. Born on September 21, 1969, in the Bronx, New York, he moved to Ireland with his family when he was a young boy. Christopher quickly became a staple of the Dublin live music scene, known for his distinctive voice and soulful compositions. His promising career was tragically cut short when he suffered a fatal accident in November 2001 while on tour in the Netherlands.

Despite his untimely death, Mic Christopher's musical legacy endures, in large part due to his posthumously released album "Skylarkin," which came out in 2002. The album, pieced together by his friends and fellow musicians, received critical acclaim and holds his best-loved songs including "Heyday" – a track that became an anthem for those who cherished his work and mourned his loss. Christopher's influence on the Irish music scene remains palpable, as his songs continue to inspire a new generation of artists. His live recording, "Live At The Lobby," captures the raw energy and warmth of his performances, providing a snapshot of an artist whose potential was vast and whose talent is still celebrated today by those who were touched by his music.
