Deeds of Flesh

Deeds of Flesh is an American technical death metal band founded in 1993 in Los Osos, California, by Erik Lindmark (guitar, vocals), Jacoby Kingston (bass, vocals), and Joey Heaslet (drums). Known for their technical prowess, the band quickly gained a reputation for intricate guitar work, complex rhythms, and brutal intensity. Over the years, the band has seen a few lineup changes, with Lindmark remaining as the core member until his passing in 2018.

Throughout their career, Deeds of Flesh released a series of influential albums that shaped the technical death metal subgenre, beginning with their 1995 debut, "Trading Pieces." They followed up with a succession of releases that further cemented their status, such as "Inbreeding the Anthropophagi" (1998) and "Mark of the Legion" (2001). Their style continued to evolve, integrating more elaborate structures and storytelling elements, as exemplified in their later works like "Portals to Canaan" (2013) and "Nucleus" (2020), the latter being a tribute to the legacy of Lindmark and incorporating guest performances from members of other seminal death metal acts. Deeds of Flesh remains a revered name in the death metal community, known for pushing the boundaries of the genre and leaving a lasting legacy within extreme metal music.
