Nicole Esposito

Nicole Esposito is a charismatic and versatile flutist who serves as the flute professor and head of the woodwind area at The University of Iowa School of Music. She has received prestigious awards, including the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Collegiate Teaching Award and International Teaching Engagement Award. Esposito is also a Permanent Visiting Professor at the University of Chile. Her career spans performances as a soloist, chamber, and orchestral musician across the globe, including the United States, Europe, Central and South America, and Asia. She is a sought-after master teacher at festivals, universities, and conservatories worldwide.

Esposito holds degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Michigan. Her recent musical endeavors include the release of "Dancing in Dreams," a collaboration with Turkish harpist Çagatay Akyol, on MSR Classics in 2021. She performs on Miyazawa flutes and has been featured in numerous recordings on labels such as Albany Records and Con Brio Recordings. Esposito's teaching and performance career is complemented by her publications in various music magazines, including Banddirector.com and The Flutist Quarterly.
