Julia Marcell is a Polish singer-songwriter and pianist who's been making waves in the indie music scene since the late 2000s. Born in 1982 in Olsztyn, Poland, Marcell started writing songs at the tender age of 14 and later taught herself piano. She made her debut with the EP "Storm" in 2007, but it was her first full-length album "It Might Like You" in 2009 that really put her on the map.
Marcell's sound has evolved over the years, incorporating electronic elements and expanding her sonic palette. Her 2011 album "June" marked a significant shift in her style and earned her critical acclaim, including the prestigious Paszport Polityki prize. Now based in Berlin, Marcell continues to push her musical boundaries, with albums like "Sentiments" (2014) and "Proxy" (2016) showcasing her growth as an artist.
