Shilpa Natarajan

Shilpa Natarajan is an independent acoustic singer-songwriter based in Chennai, India. Born on July 31, 1987, she has been active in the music scene since 2011. Her diverse musical background includes training in Carnatic and Western classical music, and she holds an ATCL diploma in Western Classical Music (Performance). Shilpa has experience as a playback singer, working on projects such as singing for Disney Tamil and Nickelodeon. She has also been a part of musical groups like the Beef Sappad Trio, known for its humorous parody songs.

Shilpa's solo work includes her debut EP "Bubblewrap," released in 2017, featuring a mix of indie pop, world, and indie-folk genres. She often incorporates Indian classical elements into her music, as seen in songs like "Haunted," which addresses themes of trauma and personal experience. Her artistic scope extends beyond music; she has also worked as a radio presenter on Chennai Live 104.8FM and is involved in vocal education through her work at Oshi's Vocal Academy.
