Shyam Dehati
**Shyam Dehati** was a talented Bhojpuri singer, lyricist, music director, actor, and songwriter from Bettiah, West Champaran, Bihar, born on January 1, 1988. A bright student from a young age, he loved writing poems in his free time and kicked off his career as a lyricist in 2007 with the hit film *Nirahua Rickshawwala* starring Dinesh Lal Yadav and Amrapali Dubey; he later acted in *Rani Dilbarjani* alongside stars like Monalisa and Rani Chatterjee, and penned tons of songs especially for Khesari Lal Yadav, plus big names like Pawan Singh and Ravi Kishan.
The adventure-loving guy, who dug horse riding, moved to Mumbai with his family but headed back to Bihar in 2020 during the COVID lockdown to start his food company, Shyam Dehati Foods. Sadly, he passed away on April 19, 2021, at age 33 after battling COVID-19 in a Gorakhpur hospital—his loss hit the Bhojpuri scene hard, with Khesari Lal Yadav sharing a touching tribute.
