Christian Erbach was a German composer and organist from the late Renaissance and early Baroque periods. Born around 1570, he spent much of his career in Augsburg, where he served as cathedral organist and later as Kapellmeister. Erbach was highly respected for his intricate keyboard music, much of which showcases his skillful counterpoint and rich harmonies. His surviving works primarily include organ music and sacred vocal compositions, reflecting the rich musical traditions of southern Germany at the time. Erbach’s detailed and expressive style made him one of the notable figures in the transitional era between Renaissance and Baroque music. He passed away in 1635.
