Michel Block was a Belgian-French pianist born on January 12, 1937 in Antwerp, Belgium to French parents. As a child, he moved with his family to Mexico. Block gained recognition as a talented concert pianist, known for his interpretations of composers like Chopin, Albéniz, and Granados. He had a successful performing and recording career, releasing albums of works by these and other classical composers. Block also worked as a teacher, spending time on the faculty at Indiana University. He passed away on March 4, 2003 in Bloomington, Indiana.
