Maryanne Amacher

Maryanne Amacher was an American composer and sound artist known for her pioneering work in the field of sound installation. She was born in 1938 in Akron, Ohio, and studied music at the University of California, Berkeley. Amacher's work often explored the relationship between sound and space, and she created immersive sound environments that enveloped listeners in a multisensory experience. She was also a pioneer in the use of electronics and technology in music, and her work has been influential in the development of electronic music and sound art. Amacher died in 2009 at the age of 70.
