Modest Mouse

Modest Mouse is an American indie rock band formed in 1992 in Issaquah, Washington. The band was founded by lead singer/guitarist Isaac Brock, bassist Eric Judy, and drummer Jeremiah Green. Known for their angular, off-kilter approach to rock music, Modest Mouse didn't rush to mainstream recognition but slowly built a devoted fanbase through their unique sound and Brock's philosophical lyrics. While they maintained a cult following during the '90s, the band achieved commercial success with their fourth album "Good News for People Who Love Bad News" in 2004, which included hits like "Float On" and "Ocean Breathes Salty."

Through a mix of experimentation and raw emotion, Modest Mouse continually evolved while staying true to their distinctive style. The group faced lineup changes over the years, with Johnny Marr of The Smiths famously joining as a guitarist for a period. Their catalogue spans several notable albums and a number of eclectic and characterful singles, with recent releases including their 2021 comeback album "The Golden Casket" and singles like "Leave A Light On," which exemplify the band's ongoing experimentation with new sounds while retaining the lyrical depth that has long defined their work. As they progress through their third decade, Modest Mouse continues to court critical acclaim and maintain a passionate and dedicated fanbase.
