How To Destroy Angels

How to Destroy Angels is an American post-industrial group formed in 2009 by Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor, his wife and former West Indian Girl singer Mariqueen Maandig, Atticus Ross, and graphic designer Rob Sheridan. The group derives its name from the 1984 Coil single of the same name. Reznor's collaboration with Ross extends beyond the band, as the two have frequently worked together on film scores, notably winning an Academy Award for Best Original Score for "The Social Network" in 2010.

The band's unique sound blends electronic and experimental elements, underpinned by Reznor's dark lyrical themes and Maandig's haunting vocals. Their debut self-titled EP "How To Destroy Angels" was released in 2010, followed by a second EP, "An omen EP_" in 2012, which exhibited the band's growing integration of electronic textures and somber ambiance. In 2013, they released their first full-length album titled "Welcome oblivion," which garnered attention for its atmospheric and intricate production. Known for their enigmatic presence and visually striking music videos, How to Destroy Angels has carved out a distinctive niche within the alternative electronic music scene, poised at the intersection of art and technology.
