Mnogotochie

Mnogotochie, which translates to "Ellipsis" in English, is a pioneering Russian hip-hop group that burst onto the scene in Moscow back in 1998. Founded by rapper Rustam "Rustaveli" Alyautdinov along with other members like DJ Hassan and Kritik, they quickly gained a cult following with their raw, socially conscious lyrics tackling heavy topics like urban life, poverty, crime, and personal struggles. Their debut album "Za Tochku Otschyota" (Behind the Starting Point) dropped in 2000, and they followed up with hits like "V Zhizni Tak Byvayet" and "Shchemyt v Dushe Toska," blending gritty storytelling with underground beats that resonated deeply in Russia's rap community.

The group, often seen as trailblazers in Russian hip-hop for their poetic and introspective style, released several albums before disbanding around 2006, though Rustaveli and others continued with solo projects. Even after their split, Mnogotochie's influence lingers through remixes, covers, and compilations like "Luchshie Pesni za 20 Let" (Best Songs Over 20 Years), keeping their music alive for new fans. If you're into thoughtful, no-frills rap with a Russian twist, these guys are definitely worth a listen!
