The Offenders

The Offenders were a hardcore punk band formed in 1978 in Killeen, Texas. After relocating to Austin in 1980, they became known as one of the premiere hardcore acts from the Lone Star state. The band's original lineup consisted of J.J. Jacobson on vocals, Tony Johnson on guitar, Mikey Donaldson on bass, and Pat Doyle on drums.

The Offenders released two full-length albums, "We Must Rebel" in 1983 and "Endless Struggle" in 1985, as well as the "I Hate Myself / Bad Times" 7" single. Their raw, aggressive sound helped define the Texas hardcore scene of the 1980s alongside contemporaries like D.R.I. and M.D.C. The band broke up in 1986 after a relatively short but influential run.
