Lorenzo De Finti

Lorenzo De Finti is an Italian-Swiss pianist, composer, and producer born in a small town in southern Switzerland, who's called Milan home since he was three years old. He studied classical piano at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, but his musical journey kicked off with a love for the Beatles, leading him to dive into '70s fusion bands like Weather Report and Return to Forever, and jazz greats such as Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett, and Herbie Hancock—shaping his signature blend of jazz, classical, rock, and cinematic vibes that often draws Bill Evans or Esbjerg Svensson Trio comparisons, though he totally stands on his own.

Now leading his tight-knit Lorenzo De Finti Quartet—with bassist Stefano Dall’Ora, trumpeter Alberto Mandarini, and drummer Marco Castiglioni—De Finti crafts intricate, poetic soundscapes full of dynamic improv, Nordic atmospheres, chamber lyricism, and rock energy, as heard in recent gems like *Backlash of Uncertainty*, *Mysterium Lunae*, and *Lullabies From An Unknown Time*. The group's been gigging across Europe and beyond, from cozy clubs to big festivals, and he's even scored nods like Jazz Artist of the Year while partnering with RSI radio in Lugano for jazz curation and interviews. His tunes feel like unwritten film scores, balancing tension, silence, and melody in a way that's both deep and inviting.
