Bruno Borralhinho

Bruno Borralhinho is a Portuguese conductor and cellist born in 1982. He began his musical journey at the age of 12 under the guidance of Prof. Luis Sá Pessoa and later studied at the Berlin University of the Arts. Borralhinho is the Artistic Director of the Ensemble Mediterrain and a member of the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra. He has conducted numerous orchestras, including the Dresdner Philharmonie, Deutsche Kammerorchester Berlin, and several Portuguese orchestras. His passion for opera has led him to conduct works by Mozart, Ravel, and Puccini. As a cellist, Borralhinho has performed as a soloist with various orchestras and has released several albums, including recordings of Portuguese music and works by R. Strauss, Mahler, and Zemlinsky.

Borralhinho's educational background extends beyond music; he holds a Master's in Cultural Management and a PhD in Humanities. His academic work culminated in the publication of a book titled "Poder y Música Clásica en el Portugal del siglo XX." He has also given masterclasses in Brazil, Portugal, and Spain, further solidifying his influence in the musical community. His recent CD release featuring the works of Fernando Lopes-Graça received critical acclaim, highlighting his dedication to promoting Portuguese classical music.
