The Trammps

The Trammps are an American disco and soul band that etched their mark in music history with their effervescent dance tracks and passionate performances. Originally hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the group was formed in the early 1970s with members Jimmy Ellis, Harold Wade, Stanley Wade, Earl Young, and Robert Upchurch. They are best known for their 1976 Grammy Award-winning hit “Disco Inferno,” which became an emblematic anthem of the disco era and was immortalized on the soundtrack for the film "Saturday Night Fever," amplifying the disco craze across the globe.

The Trammps' sound was a blend of soulful melodies and fervent rhythms that consistently captured the exuberance of the disco movement. Throughout their career, they have released a stream of spirited tracks that kept the party atmosphere at its peak. Even as disco's popularity waned in the late 1970s and early 1980s, The Trammps remained a respected name, frequently sampled and remixed by artists across genres, proving their timeless appeal. With fervent live performances and the undying energy of their recorded music, The Trammps solidified their role as pioneers and mainstays of the genre, a legacy that continues to influence and ignite dance floors around the world.
