Warning is a British doom metal band formed in the late 1990s by singer and guitarist Patrick Walker. Known for their emotionally raw and melancholic sound, Warning gained a cult following with their deeply personal lyrics and slow, crushing riffs. Their 2006 album Watching from a Distance is widely regarded as a landmark release in the doom metal genre, praised for its haunting atmosphere and Walker's heartfelt vocal delivery. Although the band has had a relatively sparse discography, their music has left a lasting impact on fans and fellow musicians alike.
After disbanding in 2009, Warning reunited in 2017 for a series of live performances, including a notable set at Roadburn Festival where they played Watching from a Distance in full. These performances further solidified their legacy as one of doom metal's most emotionally resonant acts. Patrick Walker has also continued creating music under the name 40 Watt Sun, exploring similarly introspective themes with a broader sonic palette.
