Robert Spano
Robert Spano is an American conductor who has served as the music director of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra since 2001. He is also the music director of the Aspen Music Festival and School and the artistic director of the Spoleto Festival USA. Spano is known for his adventurous programming and his commitment to new music. He has commissioned and premiered over 100 new works, including operas, concertos, and orchestral pieces. Spano is also a passionate advocate for music education and has worked to create programs that bring music to underserved communities.
