Zecchino d'Oro

Zecchino d'Oro is not a musician or band but rather an annual Italian children's music festival established in 1959 by Niny Comolli. It is broadcast by Rai 1 and features songs performed by children aged 4 to 10. The festival, which moved to Bologna in 1961 under the Antoniano Institute, includes both Italian and international participants. Since 1976, it has featured seven Italian and seven foreign songs, all voted on by a children's jury. The winning songs receive awards like the Zecchino d'Oro and Zecchino d'Argento, which are given to the songwriters and composers, not the child performers.

The releases listed, such as "Zecchino d'oro 67° Edizione," are compilations of songs from the festival rather than albums by a specific artist or band. These compilations often include popular songs from past editions of the festival. The Piccolo Coro dell'Antoniano, a children's choir associated with the festival, was founded by Mariele Ventre in 1963 and continues to be a central part of the event.
