**Dialect** is the solo project of **Andrew PM Hunt**, a British sound artist and composer based in Liverpool who's been crafting gorgeously intricate electronic music for over a decade. Hunt's approach is beautifully collage-like—he weaves together organic textures, found sounds, tape loops, and electro-acoustic environments into deeply personal compositions that feel both fragmented and emotionally resonant. Growing up on the Wirral Peninsula in North West England surrounded by DIY underground music culture, Hunt naturally gravitated toward studio work as a way to process his eclectic influences, treating instruments as tools to build intimate sonic worlds.
Since his 2015 debut *Advanced Myth*—a sprawling cosmos of unusual source synthesis and found sound—Dialect has steadily expanded his artistic vision across releases like *Loose Blooms* (2017), which grew delicate, boundless textures from gritty cello lines and distorted electronics, and *Under~Between* (2021), a shimmering collaboration with local musicians. Hunt's work is often informed by literature, philosophy, and ecological anxiety; he draws inspiration from fantasy writers like Ursula K. Le Guin and Gene Wolfe, as well as Italian philosopher Federico Campagna. His most recent album, *Atlas of Green* (2024), sees him imagining a young musician in a speculative future, piecing together myth and music from the remnants of a forgotten society—a fitting metaphor for Hunt's entire artistic practice of transforming fragments into something transcendent.
