Joe Bushkin was a talented American jazz pianist and composer who made his mark on the music scene from the 1930s through the 1970s. Born in New York City in 1916, Bushkin started his career playing trumpet and piano with local dance bands before joining Bunny Berigan's band in 1935.
Throughout his career, Bushkin worked with some of the biggest names in jazz, including Tommy Dorsey, Eddie Condon, and Louis Armstrong. He's best known for co-writing the hit song "Oh! Look at Me Now," which became one of Frank Sinatra's early successes. Bushkin's lively piano style and versatility allowed him to excel in various settings, from small jazz combos to big bands and even as a solo performer.
