Magnifica Brass Quintet

The Magnifica Brass Quintet is a French classical brass ensemble founded in 1985. It consists of talented musicians including Michel Barré and Grégoire Méa on trumpet, Pascal Gonzales on trombone, Albin Lebossé on cor, and Benoît Fourreau on tuba. The group has distinguished itself by winning several prestigious awards, such as recognition from the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation in 1986, the first prize at the International Brass Quintet Competition in Baltimore in 1989, and the International Brass Quintet Competition in Narbonne in 1990.

Magnifica's repertoire spans from Baroque to contemporary music, often premiering new works by composers like Marc Mir and Jean-Pascal Beintus. They have also collaborated with soprano Shigeko Hata, showcasing the role of brass instruments in opera music. The quintet frequently performs at renowned festivals, both domestically and internationally, including engagements in the United States and Morocco. Their discography includes notable releases such as "Eternal Source of Brass Divine," "Music for His Majesty," and interpretations of Bach's works.
