Balkonultra, whose real name is Niko Thoms, is a German party schlager singer born around 1994 or 1995 in Jena, Thüringen. He became known through TikTok in 2022 by posting recordings of football fan chants that he performed from his apartment balcony. His breakthrough came with the song "Pyrotechnik," a chant focusing on the passion and controversy around the use of pyrotechnics (like flares) in football stadiums, which became popular during the UEFA European Football Championship 2024 and even entered the German charts, peaking at number 52. He has collaborated with well-known party schlager artists like Ikke Hüftgold and Marc Eggers, performing live at events such as Megapark. Beyond music, Niko Thoms has a personal background marked by significant early life challenges, including the loss of his mother to cervical cancer and time spent under care before pursuing a career in music. He currently resides in Gera and has a daughter.
