Massimo Volume

Massimo Volume is an influential Italian post-rock band formed in Bologna in the early 1990s. Known for their atmospheric soundscapes, angular guitar work, and distinctive spoken-word vocals delivered in Italian, the band carved out a unique space in the alternative music scene. Their music blends elements of noise rock, post-hardcore, and literary storytelling, often touching on introspective and emotionally resonant themes.

The band gained critical acclaim with albums like Lungo I Bordi (1997) and Club Privé (1999), and after a hiatus in the early 2000s, they made a strong return with 2010’s Cattive abitudini and the widely praised Il nuotatore in 2019. Over the years, Massimo Volume has gained a devoted following in Italy and beyond, thanks to their poetic lyrics and immersive live performances.
