Cursed

Cursed was a formidable force in the hardcore punk and metal scenes, hailing from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and active primarily in the early to mid-2000s. Known for their aggressive blend of hardcore punk and sludge metal, Cursed's music was both ferocious and thought-provoking, often delving into themes of politics, personal anguish, and social commentary. The band's lineup consisted of vocalist Chris Colohan, guitarist Christian McMaster, bassist Donny Moran, and drummer Michael Maxymuik. Their intense and raw live performances, along with their intersection of varied heavy music influences, helped them gain respect and a dedicated following across the underground music community.

Cursed released a compact yet influential discography before their untimely split in 2008, due in part to their van being broken into and robbed while on tour in Europe. Their first full-length album "One", released in 2003, set the tone for their uncompromising approach to music. They built on that foundation with "II", released in 2005, which continued to push the envelope with its blend of sludge, metal, and hardcore, capturing the band's definitive sound. Their third and final album, "III: Architects of Troubled Sleep", was released in 2008 and is often cited as their most mature and refined work. Despite their disbandment, the band left an indelible mark on the hardcore and metal scenes with these releases, as well as with their "Hell Comes Home 7" series and the EP "Blackout At Sunrise", both further solidifying their legacy as a band that was both visionary and unapologetically abrasive.
