Love Like Blood is a gothic rock band from Germany that first formed in the late 1980s. Named after the classic Killing Joke track, the band quickly became known for blending elements of gothic rock with a darker, more aggressive edge that bordered on gothic metal. Their early work, including albums like Sinister Dawn and Chronology of a Love-Affair, showcased moody atmospherics and baritone vocals characteristic of the goth scene, while later releases like Snakekiller and Enslaved Condemned ventured into heavier, more metallic territory.
Originally led by the Eysel brothers—Yorck (vocals) and Gunnar (bass)—Love Like Blood built a strong cult following throughout Europe, particularly during the 1990s. The band was celebrated for their lyrical depth, dramatic soundscapes, and ability to evolve musically while retaining their gothic roots. Though they disbanded in the early 2000s, they remain a beloved name in goth and darkwave circles.
