Namewee

Namewee, born Wee Meng Chee in 1983, is a Malaysian hip hop artist, filmmaker, and actor known for his controversial and outspoken style. He first gained attention with his 2007 song "Negarakuku," a remix of Malaysia's national anthem that sparked debate. Namewee's music often touches on themes of multiculturalism, Malaysian identity, and social issues, blending humor with social commentary.

Over the years, Namewee has released several albums and directed films, building a significant following on YouTube. His career hasn't been without challenges - he's faced legal issues in Malaysia due to the controversial nature of some of his work. In 2021, his collaboration "Fragile" with Kimberley Chen went viral but resulted in him being banned in mainland China.
